Frozen Babies Found in Freezer

And who put them there? Their mothers.

Germany has been gripped by soul-searching over a series of grisly cases of mothers murdering their babies at a time when the state is pushing legislation to encourage people to have more children.

...

Experts say the rate of German mothers murdering their children is no higher than elsewhere in Europe. In 2006, the latest year for which numbers were available, 82 young children here were killed by a parent, according to crime statistics compiled by the federal government.

Story here.

Note 2 things:

1. This is NO worse than in other countries.

2. I don't recall seeing this story ANYWHERE in the UK news. Somewhat hypocritical considering the sensationalism surrounding Josef Fritzl -- a man -- isn't it?

I think we can blame our intrepid media for all this, too many coincidences not to be a conspiracy. The BBC report wrongs done by men about 3 times an hour, the same wrongs by women get about 5 seconds and then glossed over.

Brussels, I couldn't find anywhere to comment on that article. UntoTheBreach is supposed to provide links to articles that invite comments.

I put a link to the CNN report because there's a very important point here that could otherwise be missed: the hypocrisy of our media at home. The Josef Fritzl case created an enormous hoo-hah in the British press, but this story -- of equal magnitude -- has been ignored. ("Women are too good commit crimes.")

If we restrict ourselves too much with the links we can provide, then we'd miss it too. Moreover, the information content here can provide us with a very good example to use on other comment boards.

I understand the double-standard when it comes to under-reporting crimes committed by women. However, UntoTheBreach is only intended as a means of focusing-fire on articles that invite comments. Harry set up three other blogs to allow the posting of non-comment articles.

"Many of the suspects have been struggling single women who hid their pregnancy from friends and family, gave birth alone and killed the newborn out of fear or desperation."

Desperation? With a mountain of taxpayer-funded services to hand just waiting to help them? And fear of what, exactly? Are single mothers in Germany not treated like princesses then, as they are in the UK?

Well of course you have to find some excuse for mothers who murder their babies, so their fragile mental state in the immediate period after birth fits the bill as well as anything...but it is somewhat harder to use that excuse in the case of murders of children who are much older. Like those at the link quoted in this report who were between 3 and 9 years old.

But no doubt post-partum depression will be found to last an exceptionally long time when it is convenient to do so.
